How it unfolded

The Bayer Business Disruption Team discovered POAP and started experimenting internally to drive innovation. They took a proactive approach to integrate the technology within the team, prioritizing familiarity and encouraging internal adoption. The objective was to present POAP and web3 to Bayer team members, so that they are comfortable using it in go-to-market initiatives.

Each drop became a chapter in their POAP story, sparking excitement within the entire team. To date, the company has created over 700 POAP Drops to celebrate activities such as team meetings, town halls, encounters with executives, trainings, hackathons, and innovation summits.

One of the highlights was at their Bayer Berlin Sommerfest event, where team members engaged in a lively POAP Safari.

POAP for Teams

The average individual dedicates around 90,000 hours to their work throughout their lifetime. We need to make those moments count.

POAP is a perfect solution to mint precious digital collectibles, acknowledging company-wide and team-level achievements, professional development, and team-building efforts.

At Bayer, employees from different teams –R&D, Product, Supply, Marketing, Commercial, Communications, IT, etc- received POAPs as recognition for expanding their knowledge related to their work at the company. These collectibles were granted for participation in training sessions, internal meetings, and staying informed about internal research.

Similar acknowledgments were given for attending hackathons, contributing to process improvement committees, and participating in innovation summits.

The Safari Expedition

Bayer R&D team members collect their POAPs like treasures, creating connections and stories along the way. The Bayer POAP Safari initiative connected team members, fostering a bond with the Bayer executive team.

The energy at the Berlin Sommerfest was palpable as team members exchanged ‘You Met Me' POAPs, creating an organic pathway for approachability in low-pressure social contexts.

Today, employees proudly carry their POAP Passports – an app created by POAP Studio that shows the POAPs collected and those to be collected – mapping their engagement journey within the Bayer family.

This innovative approach reflects our commitment to cultivate culture, community and  stronger emotional connection through the use of web3 technology.

Why POAP? POAP is a gold standard for precious digital collectibles. As a curated ecosystem, we make sure that only moments that truly matter are permanently recorded on the blockchain.

Why mint? Unlike traditional employee engagement solutions, self-custodied assets create a genuine sense of ownership for team members, becoming something they can carry with them wherever they go.

What’s next? Proof of Care

Bayer extended its innovative approach by offering POAPs to clinicians in its oncology, cardiology, and other associated programs. This not only digitizes the latent network within its community but also facilitates more effective content sharing without the cumbersome maintenance of lists or risky PII storage.
