Generating real connections with community members and beyond
Understanding the value of fostering connections within their community, World of Women (WoW) partnered with POAP to distribute digital collectibles at their in-person and online events. This engagement not only created lasting memories for WoW NFT holders but also extended their reach to a broader community, including supporters outside the membership base.
By distributing 100+ POAPs, WoW has successfully connected with new audiences, helping move them from being exposed to WoW, to becoming fans, part of the community, and ultimately WoW members.
Connecting through POAPs
World of Women began as an NFT collection and has grown into a global movement advocating for representation in Web3 and beyond. They have built an inclusive community with unique benefits, using on-chain tools to help members expand their networks.
Throughout this journey, WoW has distributed POAPs to celebrate milestones (such as joining the Tezos ecosystem), community gatherings, and partner events. These digital collectibles have been key in connecting members with shared interests and experiences.
Creating fun experiences at the World of Women Gala
One particularly notable recent event was the World of Women Gala in Paris 2024, where participants engaged in a fun treasure hunt with rewards. At the Gala, the WoW team set up a POAP hunt with six unique collectibles.
Participants used their POAP passports to track their progress, receiving immediate rewards such as cocktails, face masks and swag from brands like Sephora and Sakazuki for collecting all the POAPs; 80% of attendees at the WoW Gala collected at least one POAP, with 35% completing the full passport.
Finding connections through Patio
Patio an online networking platform developed for the WoW community also leverages POAPs. Members can display their WoW POAP collections but most importantly based on the POAPs they’ve collected help discover and connect with other members who have similar interest or attended the same events.
Results
The WoW POAP Collection has more than 13,000 POAP collectors, significantly outnumbering the 5,260 WoW NFT holders. This highlights how using POAP has helped WoW engage, connect, and preserve memories not just for their members but also for a broader audience.
What’s next?
Continuing to integrate POAP into their strategy, The Anti-Farming Movement Club (AFFC) launched in September 2024 focuses on real-world engagement, connections and rewarding participation in a quest that flips the script, focusing on in-person and face-to-face moments as part of a move to a coin-enabled ecosystem in preparation for WoW coin.
